Aubree's Age

Long Time No Post Again...

I'm getting really bad at blogging, but I will really work on getting better!!

For those of you who don't already know...Aubree is going to be a big sister!  Any time we ask her, she says she wants a baby sister, and I have a feeling that's what she's going to get.  We find out Feb. 10th what the sex of this baby will be, so I'll be sure to post again then for sure.

Aubree had two costumes this year for Halloween.  She dressed up as Dora the Explorer for her Daycare Party.  We have a life size Dora, so we just stripped her down and they fit Aubree perfectly.

Then for Halloween night, she dressed up as a Baterina.  She loves her little tutu's, so when I saw this at Walmart for cheap, I had to get it.  Even though little Miss Thang wouldn't wear the ears or hand coverings, she still looked adorable as ever.

Later that evening, after Trick or Treating with Rylyn and Kelton, the twins and Ryun and Brandy came over so DeeDee and Papaw could see them dressed up.  Ben and I had been back and forth about how/when to tell everyone we were pregnant, so we thought this was the perfect time.  I had all three kids sit up on the table to take their picture, and as I was about to tell to say "Cheese" I replaced it with say "Aubree's going to be a big sister"!!  Then, instead of taking their picture, I turned around and took a picture of Mom, Brandy and Ryun who were standing behind us.  We knew Brandy would be super excited...I think her face shows it in this picture!  :)

Then, in an attempt to get some updated Napier Family Photos for our Christmas card, we had a photographer friend like me who does this on the side snap some photos of us over at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro.  Beautiful place to shoot and I do think I'll be taking advantage of that place come Spring.  Her pillow case dress is a handmade dress made by a good friend of mine.  She is awesome at what she does!  I asked her one night if she'd be willing to do it, sent her a couple ideas of patterns and viola...exactly what I wanted!  :)

Then Kyle, Steph, Austin and Siena made their annual trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving, so we were able to get a few cousins photos while they were in visiting.  We had Santa and Mrs. Claus again this year, so were were able to get a few cute photos then, but then I attempted using my backdrops to take some more photos later.  Let me just say, taking photos of 5 kiddos, 3 and under is TOUGH!

I just LOVE Aubree's face in this photo as she's watching the singing mice.  She's such a happy kiddo.

Once again, love her face...she was so excited to open a gift from Santa
Rylyn and Kelton loved seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus again this year.  Doesn't Kelton look like a little man in his shirt and tie!
Siena was all smiles for pictures.  Such a happy baby.  :)
Deedee and Papaw with ALL the grand babies!!
Aubree and Papaw being silly as usual!!
Austin didn't want much to do with Santa this year, so I had to add a cute picture of him in the reindeer ears to show that he was here!  :)
Siena wore Aubree's Baby's 1st Thanksgiving outfit, so I had to get a picture of her in it.  Too cute!

Here are a few from the cousin attempted photoshoot:

 We attempted laying down too...

It's Been Forever!!

I can't believe I haven't posted anything on Aubree in almost 2 months! Wow...that's not like me. :)

So, let's see...

Aubree started back to daycare when we started school back. It didn't take too long for her to get adjusted to me leaving her behind, which was great, but on the other hand, potty training has went down the drain. Aubree was completely potty trained back in July. She would have an accident ever 5-6 days, but no biggie...she's 2. When she started daycare, she had 1-2 accidents a day there. Then, after about a week, she started having 1-2 accidents at daycare, and then 1-2 accidents at home. Let's just say I wasn't a happy Momma, but I kept telling her it was ok, accidents happen and kept thinking it would get better. NOPE! I even brought back stickers and skittles, but NOPE...she kept having accident after accident, so I finally gave in after a few weeks of changing her clothes 2-4 times at home on top of what they changed at daycare. She will still go on the potty, doesn't go #2 in her pull up, but cares less to have panties on, so we are officially back into pull ups. :( We'll try again soon.

We have been growing Aubree's bangs back out, and it seems like it's taking FOREVER, but at least she likes to wear barrettes, headbands, pony and piggy tails now. After her bath, or if she pulls her barrettes out, she looks like a sheep dog trying to see through her bangs....they're just at that horrible stage. One of these days!

Aubree has a big change coming up! Tomorrow we close on our house, which means we'll be moving out of Papaw and DeeDee's house within the next 30 days!!! Aubree will miss her DeeDee and Papaw like crazy, but it will be so nice to finally have a place of our own again to be a family of 3. Has anyone experienced moving with a toddler? How easy/hard is it on them to get adjusted?

Here are a few of Aubree's latest pics while playing around outside. Enjoy, and hopefully it won't be 2 more months before I post again.

it didn't last long...Mommy had to ride
We visited Meemaw while up in that area.  She was past due for her nap, so she wouldn't let me put her in Meemaw's lap for the picture.  :(

Just a sweet picture of my baby girl!

Aubree Singing the ABC's With Me

Aubree and I have our nightly ritual of me singing two songs to her while I rock her (something she started now that she's in a big girl bed...the rocking that is) I tell her I will only rock her long enough to sing her two songs.  She now sings along with me :)  Please forgive my horrible singing, and there really isn't anything to see in this video...just listen and enjoy.

This second video is a rare occasion.  Aubree is on the trampoline, watching Barney as a dance along segment comes on.  She got sooooo excited!!  Very rarely do you hear her screaming with excitement, but you can definitely tell she likes to dance as she squeals in this video.

Yay for Panties!!

I have been working on potty training Aubree since school has let out, and I obviously didn't go the right route with using pull ups.  I put her in panties on Monday full time (except for her nap and bedtime) and she has done fabulously!!  She did have her first #2 accident in them today, but I think she got caught up in playing at McDonald's with one of my friends son and niece.  I can't complain about that...accidents happen, right??  :)  Anyhow, no pictures this time, just a quick update on Aubree's success!  I'm so proud of her.

Aubree Counting to 10

For those of you who don't do Facebook, here's Aubree counting to 10.  She did it perfectly before I turned the camera on, so the 2nd time I had to keep asking her to continue.  Any time I turn a camera on and ask her to do something anymore, she refuses, so that's why you are only seeing her backside here.

Happy 4th of July

We celebrated the 4th of July in Tell City this year. The kids actually got to participate in "trying" out some of the kid sized fireworks. They attempted the sparklers which I believe was Kelton's favorite. Then they did the poppers, and Rylyn liked them the best out of the three things. All three kids actually liked the poppers since they were all able to do them, but Rylyn seemed the most excited. Then Uncle Ryun lit the black snakes on fire and that is what caught Aubree's attention the most. She would get excited and kept saying "Snake" and "More"! :) Then it was time for their dinner and baths to kill time before it got dark. Aubree did fairly well with the loud noises...she wasn't ecstatic about them, but didn't freak out. Actually, at the start, she kept pointing to the door and saying, "house!". She wanted to go in, but then got used to it. Rylyn kept giggling over the fireworks, but then would say, "They scare me". Kelton tried to convince Ryun to stop setting them off. He didn't like them very much. I think the adults enjoyed watching Ryun take off running like crazy after lighting each one. He definitely got his exercise for the day! :) I've attached different videos of the kids doing their fireworks, and then their reactions to the fireworks. I hope you enjoy!

Aubree's 2nd Birthday DAY and Dora Party

Aubree was able to celebrate her 2nd birthday pretty much all week. In fact, yesterday (the 25th)...when the twins came in a saw her balloons still inflated, they wished her Happy Birthday again. So...10 days of celebrating isn't bad! :) I have a TON of photos from the two different days, and rather bore you with them here, I have just made the picture below a link to the album if you wish to look at them. Enjoy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Baby Girl

So...Usually I write my blog post about Aubree...but today, I'm going to write "to" Aubree. :-) First and foremost, Happy Birthday baby girl. I love you with all my heart! November 2007, when I found out I was pregnant with you, I didn't think I could get any happier. 7 months later, when you were born, I found out I was wrong. Seeing you for the first time made me the happiest Mommy in the world. You are the most beautiful thing ever. Over the past two years, you have continued to get even more beautiful than I ever thought possible. Your personality makes me smile every day, even when you get in one of your moods, you still somehow make me smile. I love when you run to me arms wide open, just to get a big hug and a kiss. Your smile and laugh is so contagious. You constantly say to me, "Hold you", instead of "Hold me"...and just so you know, I will always hold you. I will always hug you, I will always kiss you, and I will always tell you I LOVE YOU. You and your Daddy continue to make me the person that I am and I want to thank both of you for that. Happy Birthday baby girl...I hope you enjoy your special day today. xoxoxox Here is the attempt I made at getting 2 year photos of Aubree. As you can see...she was in one of those "moods" I mentioned earlier and didn't want to smile at me, or even look at me. All she cared about was that she was "outside". :) Enjoy:

Lots of Photos!!

The three of us visited Rochelle in Louisville so she could take family photos for us. Unfortunately...there was a "side"...a.k.a. as SLIDE that Aubree was determined she wanted WAY more than to take photos with Mommy and Daddy. So...needless to say, she wasn't in the mood to participate. Thank you Rochelle...she was a very fussy baby, so I'm surprised you continued as long as you did. :) Enjoy!
From here down, anytime you see Aubree's face...she's looking at the slide. We could NOT get her attention off of it for anything!!
